Hear the Wind Sing
Hear the Wind Sing is a longform soundscape, generated by a MAX patch based on chance operations. Inspired by YouTube walking videos and their slow paced, quietly poetic aesthetics, it lays out a hypothetical sonic topography. It draws on field recordings, but presents a slightly surreal urban soundscape that is no documentation of an existing place. Rather, this synthetic sound environment is meant to connect with the recollections and imaginations of the listener. Thus, radio may become a site for the interrogation of our relationship to the spaces we inhabit or simply provide an opportunity for escape and mental travel.
Hear the Wind Sing will be broadcast at Radiophrenia 2020 on Sunday, November 22 at 9am (GMT).
